This written work deals with occupational interventions for children with Downs Syndrome at kindergarten age and elementaryschool age. The potential of development of these children is not be underestimated, whereat specific support is very important. Occupational Therapists contribute, because as multisided as the attributes of these children are, they can offer a lot of therapeutic measures. The occupational measures that are relevant for the treatment of these children is described by the specific question of this written work. On the basis of the structure of the Occupational Performance Model (Australia) the character and the associated disorders of the occupational performance of Down´s Syndrome are demonstrated. Therefore findings seen from the perspective of developmental psychology, occupational therapy in pediatrics, but also of occupational therapists who are mothers of children with Down´s Syndrome theirselves, are providing the basis. The coherence of physical und cognitive development is becoming explicit. Furthermore the major influence of motivation and structur of daily life on children with Downs syndrome is explained. Selected occupational activities have a positive influence on the interacting factors of the development of children.
