„Which effects do visitations by the biological parents have on the relational triangle of foster parents - foster child - biological parents ? “ is the title of this Bachelor Thesis.
This thesis deals with the issue of visitations and the implication of these for the in-volved parties in a foster relationship. Time and again, social workers must decide whether or not to permit such visitations. It is, therefore, crucial to know all relevant aspects so as to be in a position to make an informed decision. This paper offers a contribution to the professional decision-making process on an individual basis. To begin with, we offer a short insight into relevant psychological aspects and an outline of the necessary conditions for a foster relationship. We then deal with the visitations themselves and the implications thereof, taking an in-depth look at the supportive and supervisory role of the social worker. Ultimately, this should facilitate the analysis of visitations in the context of foster relationships.
