In this thesis I illustrate which legal changes of the past 200 years were important for fathers rights.
I'm starting with an overview of what the legal situation in the Austrian Civil Code of 1811 looked like, followed by descriptions of the most important reformations until now. These include - amongst others - the family law reformations during the 60ies and 70ies, the reform of child law, the Youth Welfare Act, and the Act on Protection against Violence.
After the part about legal history I further discuss current bills and demands of austrian fathers rights initiatives.
I then close with a summary of the most significant changes in law for fathers also including a few thoughts about the meaning of positiv fatherhood.
