This bachelor thesis describes the clinical picture of gout, as well as other diagnostic possibilities, such as a patient history, laboratory diagnosis and radiology procedures. Both with the conventional radiology, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound and computed tomography were worked with in the diagnostic of gout. The newest method for a gout examination is the dual – energy – computed tomography, which is specially described. The „SOMATOM Definition®“ and the „SOMATOM Definition Flash®“ from the company Siemens are characterized. Furthermore, the course of the examination and the scan parameters are discussed. The post – processing options and the treatment of gout are also included.
