Euthanasia is a big talking point. There are more and more cases of it, or rather it is more and more the wish that euthanasia is legalized. The discussion about euthanasia is highly relevant in public and policy and is performed partly controversial. The ethical problems of admissibility or inadmissibility of discussion about euthanasia are different. As the discussions show, the legitimacy of killing is not compatible with the beliefs and values of many people. A discussion on euthanasia, palliative care and living will can only be done under medical, ethical and legal aspects. Based on the social changes of dying and death and the young discipline of holistic palliative care, a new societal culture of death is required. The work reflects an investigation of the legal, medical and ethical situation on the admissibility or inadmissibility of humanitarian motivated life shortening reconnected with the terms euthanasia and palliative care in Austria, the Netherlands and Germany. In this research, both online searches have been included as well as library research. There were magazines, books, legal documents, opinions and studies into account.
