In general, this thesis deals with early drop-out, which is a phenomenon that can be found in the German-speaking, but also international area. There are a lot of current discussions and consideration about how to establish lasting projects, which are in line with the requirements of the young adults. In comparison to other countries of the European Union, the Austrian quote of teenagers who drop out is low, but there exists a big social selectivity among the affected young people. Especially in Vienna, a lot of different projects regarding intervention and prevention have been brought up into being. The aim is to reintegrate teenagers, who got excluded of the school system and to give them a second chance. The current thesis focuses on presenting the appropriate use of the terms „Schulabbruch“, Drop-out, Early-School Leaving and NEETs in theory and practice. Additionally, the reasons for early drop-out, the current intervention- and prevention measures got described and compared with each other. The second part of this thesis deals with the interviewing of seven different experts, who seem to be relevant for the research because of their working background. All in all, they had similar opinions, especially regarding the current school system in Austria. |
