Does the socialization in traditional cultures have a positive effect on childrens develoment of mental power of resistance?
This thesis deals with the topic resilience in connection with the socialization in traditional cultures. It asks for the positive effect, that different forms of living and community -as they are known from traditional cultures- might have on childrens capacity of resilience. As an example for people who face a nonstop crisis, the situation of the habitants of the bolivian city Potosí is described. In the end, the collected findings are compared to a new law in Austria dealing with parenthood and the rights of children, which contains elements of traditional living communities.
