Abstract This bachelor thesis is about contemporary ways of “Do it Yourself” (Do It Yourself). It shows a theoretical and practical approach of Do It Yourself as an emancipatory social movement and also its economic aspects. As a phenomenon that is widely spread, social work will soon get in closer contact with Do It Yourself appearances and will have to deal with it also in on a theoretical base. A few interfaces between these two - Do It Yourself and social work - can already be identified: empowerment, orientation on clients resources, democracy, bottom-up strategies and participation, to name a few. If social work wants to use Do It Yourself practices or theories it has to deal with the concept profoundly. This for, i tried to present a brief overview over Do It Yourself and Do It Yourself-related topics. |
