This thesis is dealing with the question, how Viennese community workers define successful participation processes. To fulfil this task, six professionals have been interviewed on their experiences with participation processes in their every-day work. The qualitative research is based on guided interviews. The spectrum of the questions is ranging from the level of participation, ressources and the professional attitude of community workers to political circumstances, the process design or the definition of success. The first part of this thesis is a collection of excerpts concerning democracy, participation and community work. In the second part, the results of the research are being described, analysed and related to the depicted literature. The major results are then outlined in a conclusion. With this thesis the authors want to create a contribution to the professional discourse in community work. |
