The aim of this paper is to explore if and how intersectionality influences social work with soccer fans in Austria. The paper provides an overview of the theory of intersectionality. Further an explanation is presented how social work, soccer and the theory of intersectionality are interlinked. Subsequently the paper gives an account of the research method and the research design. Field research has been done by interviewing social
workers specialised in work with soccer fans. These interviews are processed through a specific multilayer analysis of working practice. The data is edited by clustering and cross-connecting. Finally the result is summed up.
