Due to the low numbers of female criminality just little space is created in which female offenders can complete their prison sentences. Most of them are housed in departments of prisons for men and need to adapt the rules and tailored specifically for men concepts in the implementation. However, women have different needs and different backgrounds to their deeds than men, which is statistically proven. Women who have to go to jail, often have children. If there are no relatives who take custody during the penalty period of the mother, these children must be accommodated alien. To avoid this situation, there are several approaches in the women's prison. In addition to child-friendly forms of execution, there are so-called "mother-child departments" which allows mothers to take their children to the entry of the third year of life, with the institution of a more early childhood parent-child separation counteract. Despite the fact that a prison is not a suitable place for a child, here are given the opportunities, to maintain and to develope the bond between mother and child as good as possible under the given conditions.
