This thesis deals with the existing gaps in the system of supply of traumatized refugees. On the one hand, it focuses on the development, causes and consequences of traumata. On the other hand, aggravating stress factors, resulting from flight and integration in the target country are taken into consideration. Measures and therapies needed for a successful coping with the trauma are highlighted and Austria’s existing offers in this regard are identified. The thesis aims at discovering the discrepancy between reality and literature and presenting the necessary changes to close the existing gaps.
