This paper gives an overview of the lectures which aim to teach scientific methodology and process as part of the education of radiotechnologist in Austria. The opinions of the the heads of the study courses and teaching staff at the universities of applied sciences for radiography concerning the field of „radiotechnology as scientific field“ were also collected. To realize this goals, two questionnaires have been created and used to collect data. By facilitating the method of literary research on scientific papers as well as laws, an overview about the general framework of this courses as well as research and development in Austria has been given. In a bigger context, this paper aims to be an asset to the possible inclusion of the field of radiotechnology in the official Austrian system of the fields of science (ÖFOS).
