The following Bachelor Thesis describes some assessments, which are used to examine mobility and function of locomotion. The palliative patient, who has to cope with the diag-nosis of chronic heart failure (heart insufficiency) takes center stage. These people show characteristical symptoms which, in the following, reduce the range of action. These patients are not only disabled in their mobility, but also their experience of quality of life gets worse. Relating to this, there will be presented exemplarily some assessments, which can be used in the physical examination of patients with heart insufficiency by a physiotherapist. There will be information about the Berg Balance Scale, the Barthel Index, the Functional Gait Assessment and the Minnesota Living With Heart Failure Questionnaire. The physical examination by these assessments will be attested by scientifical literature. The exemplarily repertory of the assessments is based on recommendation of the physiotherapeutical research.
