The present work deals with the latest developments and research in the field of virtual autopsy. On this branch of modern medicine significant progress has been made in recent years and it occupies an increasingly important place in the Forensic Medicine. The aim of this work is to show where these new achievements are and how they impact on existing procedures, such as in the area of post-mortem examination. The work tries to respond to the current situation in Austria. For reaching this goal, current studies and articles as well as basic literature are used. These have shown that the virtual autopsy has an increasingly important role and even see some standard processes were developed. However, such developments could not be found in Austria. Here there is a need to implement such a method of investigation. In the future, this area will continue to develop and continuously new approaches and logs are created. |
