Die hier vorliegende Arbeit befasst sich mit den aktuellen Entwicklungen und Forschungsschwerpunkten im Bereich der virtuellen Autopsie. Auf diesem Teilgebiet der modernen Medizin konnten in den letzten Jahren deutliche Fortschritte erzielt werden und es nimmt einen immer wichtigeren Platz in der Rechtsmedizin ein. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es zu zeigen, wo diese neuen Errungenschaften liegen und wie sie sich auf bisherige Vorgangsweisen, etwa im Bereich der Obduktion auswirken. Auch wird versucht auf die derzeitige Situation in Österreich einzugehen. Hierzu werden aktuelle Studien und Artikel sowie grundlegende Literatur verwendet. Diese haben gezeigt, dass die virtuelle Autopsie einen immer wichtigeren Stellenwert einnimmt und auch schon erste standardmäßige Abläufe entwickelt wurden. Entsprechende Entwicklungen konnten allerdings nicht in Österreich gefunden werden. Hier besteht noch Bedarf eine solche Untersuchungsmethode zu implementieren. Auch in Zukunft wird sich dieser Bereich weiter entwickeln und laufend neue Herangehensweisen und Protokolle werden erstellt.

The present work deals with the latest developments and research in the field of virtual autopsy. On this branch of modern medicine significant progress has been made in recent years and it occupies an increasingly important place in the Forensic Medicine. The aim of this work is to show where these new achievements are and how they impact on existing procedures, such as in the area of post-mortem examination. The work tries to respond to the current situation in Austria. For reaching this goal, current studies and articles as well as basic literature are used. These have shown that the virtual autopsy has an increasingly important role and even see some standard processes were developed. However, such developments could not be found in Austria. Here there is a need to implement such a method of investigation. In the future, this area will continue to develop and continuously new approaches and logs are created.
