This thesis deals with the logopaedical supervision of postlingual deafened adults, using a CI, in austria. Its title is intervention in focus II. In my first bachelor thesis i explained literature dealing with hearing rehabilitation. As there are only a few publications providing detailed information about the austrian implantation process, this thesis shall clarify how experts in this country execute the implantation process and explain which therapy methods they use. Furthermore the importance of hearing rehabilitation is beeing discussed and illustrated from the experts perception.
Using the findings of my first thesis as a starting point, three qualitative interviews were held and analysed for differences and similarities. Interview partners were two speech therapists from CI centres and one self-employed speech therapist.
My thesis is dedicated to give speech therapists as well as other interested readers an overview of the cochlear implantation process.
