The aim of the thesis at hand is examining the major motifs in choosing a field of studies of Carinthian and Styrian full time FH-students, currently enrolled in Radiological Technology. Apart from the study of their motivations, which are further classified as intrinisc and extrinsic motivation, it also surveys the acquisition of information that informed their choice for this particular field of study. This longitudinal survey compares the lastest data of 2014 to the analogue datasets of the past five years. The study also allows one to gain insight on the usage patterns of chief sources of information of those polled. The results can be used to improve specific targeting of potential enrollees, as well as for improved consulting of those interested in pursuing a carreer in the field.
