This Thesis deals with the places and architecture of Summer escape and the architectural context to the affluent suburbs on the basis of the Vienna environs. From Gerasdorf after Groß-Enzersdorf across the Danube to Schwechat, to Mödling and through the Vienna Woods over to Klosterneuburg to Korneuburg, insight into population growth, development of recent years and the current building is given. The aim of the work is to produce a comparison between the free architecture of Summer escape and the crushed architecture of housing estates. In the work the most popular places in the Summer escape and their architecture are shown, as well as the railways from Vienna to the individual federal states. Furthermore, the regions and municipalities of the Viennese bacon belt with topographic location, population numbers are taken (increase / decrease), land prices and today's development by means of examples under the microscope.
