The jam jar account (“Betreutes Konto”) has a positive influence for people, who are in danger to become homeless, because of not paying the rent on time. By the use of guided interviews, talking to former homeless people, we came to the result, that the jam jar account is helpful for them. As a outcome of settled important payments, through the jam jar account, they receive a feeling of security. The interviews also show, that there are only little learning effects for the people because of giving away the responsibility of payments. Only people with a lot of self-motivation and self-propelling improve there payment habits in a positive way.
