The following bachelor-thesis compares quality criteria in the practical work of Viennese school social workers to quality criteria in specialist literature. First, a short insight is given into the field of school social work by attempting to legtitimate school social work with the examples of the U.N Convention of the Rights of the Child and the changing living environment of children and adolescents. Furthermore the work outlines relevant factors, like for example the historical development, the framework conditions and the definition. The second part of the theoretical thesis focuses on the contentual positioning of school social work and constitutes the base frame of the interview outline on the one side and is on the other side related to the empirically ascertained findings. The theoretical reference points are methods, propositions, principles as well as cooperation and networking. In the empirical section of the work the analysis of the qualitative enquiry of experts with four Viennese school social workers is made. Thanks to their descriptions, knowledge about their practical work was gained.
Due to the humble amount of interviewees, the results can't be regarded as representative for the whole Viennese model of school social work, but they provide an informative insight into the preconditions and the approach to the work of school social workers in Vienna.
