This bachelor thesis deals with the creation of an overarching standard for guidance and orientation systems in hospitals. The common term for such a system in English-speaking countries is wayfinding system. The first part describes this term. The following part of the paper deals with the planning of a wayfinding system. The next chapter describes individual elements of a wayfinding system. The elements are subdivided into colour, typeface, signs, formats and material. Following this, the thesis analyses possibilities of improving the concept of a hospital´s wayfinding system while considering the corporate design. The hospital which is analysed in this paper is located in Eisenstadt/Austria and is called Hospital of the Brothers of Saint John of God. The hospital´s current wayfinding system need to be redesigned, this has been done by analysing the hospital´s wayfinding system and by deploying the paper´s theoretical part. Having reviewed existing literature, the last section of this bachelor thesis draws conclusions on a new wayfinding system.
