This thesis deals with the implementation of evidence based practice (EBP) in the field of speech and language therapy. Therefore a questionnaire was sent to speech and language pathologists in Austria practicing in the field of children speech therapy. To analyse how the implementation of EBP is currently taking place in Austria, attitudes toward EBP, knowledge about EBP and perceived barriers to EBP were explored. Subsequently, the acquired data will have added value in the potential development of an electronic platform providing possibilities to learn more about EBP. A two-part online questionnaire was designed. The first part of the questionnaire deals with attitudes toward EBP and the implementation of EBP. In the second part, the TÜBEP-ST (1.0) (Cholewa et al., 2015) was used to examine skills required for practicing EBP. Only twelve people responded to all questions of the questionnaire. This investigation is the first of its kind in Austria.
