This thesis deals with the topic of phylogenetic trees. There are four different types of trees and their differences are mentioned. Further than this the ways how this special diagrams can be calculated are mentioned and how you can create a tree based on these results.
Nowadays it is nearly impossible to create such diagrams by hand, due to the big amount of data used in most scientific applications. Therefore an example of how to implement a program that calculates a tree based on the usage of python is described. This program is an easy way for the user to create a phylogenetic tree out of fasta files which are available on the internet. After the diagram is drawn the user has the option to create the different output files containing the results of the calculation, ready to be used for biological interpretation.
