This thesis is dedicated to competitive relations between parents and care providers and their importance for the child in elementary education institutions. Competitive relations as an aspect of psychodynamic processes within the relationships between pedagogues and parents were a subject neglected in the empirical and scientific discussion. The presumption, that psychodynamic processes could be a cause for a failed cooperation between parents and pedagogues, is slowly establishing. Based on a qualitative study, this phenomenon was examined from the perspective of pedagogues and their implicit and explicit attitudes existence, genesis and the importance of competitive relationships for the child. The results of this study were subsequently discussed and based on this, consequences for the elementary educational practice were derived.
