Long term effects of cancer and its treatment in children and adolescences such as fatigue, sleeping disorders and malnutrition have become of increasing interest in recent years. Nowadays there is much more awareness for those entities making them an important topic not only for doctors but also for other medical providers such as physical therapists and nurses. The goal of this thesis is to approach these problems from a nursing perspective, focusing on different ways of dealing with and supporting affected patients. Involving the family of the patients is an essential part of providing holistic care when dealing with complex diseases. Therefore, this thesis will not only focus on the patients, who are directly affected, but also on the families surrounding those patients.
