This thesis deals with the therapeutic care of aphasic patients and their relatives with a special emphasis on their afflictions in coping with everyday life. Furthermore, this essay will highlight the importance of support groups in general and especially for people with aphasia and their relatives. Additionally, the general network of support groups in Austria is emphasized, based on the research found in the following bachelor’s thesis. After analyzing the selected data, a central research question is derived based on the findings for the bachelor's thesis two. The aim of this thesis is to stress the importance and point out the need for self-help and self-help group work from the perspective of those affected by aphasia and their relatives in Austria.
